John Collins is one of Nolij’s three founders and
is majority owner. As President, John defines the
strategies and partnerships that enable Nolij’s success,
and personally oversees major product development initiatives.
John received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science
and Applied Physics from Columbia University.
Prior to Nolij, John created and marketed Systems and Computer
Technology Corporation’s (now SunGard Higher Education)
initial imaging solution. His vision for imaging in higher
education enabled the growth of a multi-million dollar product
line after just two years leading this initiative.
In his first role at SCT, John was a professional services
consultant responsible for teaching a variety of programming
language classes and performing detailed network architecture
analysis at dozens of colleges and universities across the
country.
After college, John spent four years at Weston & Sampson
Engineers, a Boston based civil engineering firm.
As manager of the company’s Geographic Information
System (GIS) department (computer-based facilities management),
John led the development and implementation of numerous
GIS projects for utilities and government systems across
New England. While busy with GIS, John managed to
develop a first-of-its-kind graphical modeling tool for
the EPA's then text-only Storm Water Management program.
John is an avid musician playing some guitar but mostly drums
with any band that will take him and is even known to lend
his voice to the cause. He’s currently rocking
the San Francisco area with Second Avenue. Although
he misses applying his nearly second degree black belt in
Kempo Karate to the instruction of the twelve and under
crowd, he maintains his teaching mindset by converting skiers
to snowboarders on the slopes of Lake Tahoe. It’s
only a few more years until his daughters learn about 'backcountry' and Neil Peart.
John Dording
Vice President of Finance & Contracts
As one of Nolij’s three founders, John Dording has
responsibility for all finance and contracting operations
at Nolij. John has a graduate degree in Finance from Columbia
Business School and received his undergraduate degree in
Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Prior to Nolij, John worked in senior-level finance positions
including operations finance and financial planning &
analysis at United Technologies Corporation and Honeywell
International Corporation (formerly AlliedSignal). His responsibilities
included working with the president and chief financial
officer on a daily basis to analyze overall company and
business unit performance and to assure financial objectives
were achieved.
In an earlier role, John managed software sourcing at Honeywell
International. His primary responsibilities included working
with the CIO’s office to identify software standards
for the $24B company, negotiate corporate contracts, enforce
the standards, and manage the ongoing relationship with
the supply base. John also led several major legacy systems
outsourcing efforts in conjunction with ERP implementations.
After receiving his M.B.A., John spent four years at Booz
Allen Hamilton Inc., one of the oldest and most prestigious
strategy consulting firms in the world. As a Senior Associate
in the Consumer & Engineered Products practice, John
worked with senior management at Fortune 500 companies on
a broad range of issues ranging from strategies around acquisitions
and growth to business process re-engineering primarily
in product development.
After college, John worked at GE Aircraft Engines as a
design engineer of both commercial and military aircraft
engines. John still maintains a great passion for the aerospace
industry where he is working toward his private pilot’s
license. John is an avid traveler and has been pretty much
everywhere on earth.

Ron Wellman Director of Sales
Ron oversees all Nolij Web (document imaging & workflow processing solution) and Nolij ICR/OCR (forms processing & character recognition) sales at Nolij Corporation. Ron Wellman brings over 15 years of imaging and document management experience to Nolij; nearly all of which has been focused on the higher education market. Prior to working at Matrix Imaging, Ron spent five years in sales for Canon Office Equipment. He worked specifically with micrographic equipment (microfilm & microfiche readers and printers) for the Federal Government and State Municipalities. During that time Ron began selling a new product known as the Canofile System. The Canofile System was the first generation self-contained scanner, monitor and optical disk drive storage system used for scanning, archiving and retrieving digital images. One can truly say Ron has been involved with document imaging from the start.
Ron is a sport’s fanatic. His greatest passion is college football and most fall Saturdays you will find Ron and his family at a Michigan State Spartan’s football game. Ron also enjoys watching college basketball, especially during the NCAA Tournament time affectionately known as “March Madness”. When not watching his favorite sports, Ron enjoys playing a round of golf or spending time with his family. Also worth mentioning is that Ron has a fondness for live music and has seen a number of great performances including The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, The Moody Blues and The Who, but regretfully has never seen Second Avenue or the Divots.
