Snow College Selects Nolij Web Enterprise Document Imaging Technology
Nolij Web Enterprise Document Imaging Solution Chosen by Snow College to Replace Legacy Environment
Beverly, Massachusetts (24 Oct 2008) – Nolij Corporation, a leading provider of higher education focused software solutions, announced today that Snow College has selected Nolij Web as its enterprise document imaging and workflow solution. Nolij Web was chosen by the College in part because of its ability to integrate with SCT Banner Student Information system, and also for Nolij’s ability to customize the import of PaperVision-Image documents and metadata.
Snow College conducted an extensive RFP process involving a thorough review of a number of document imaging vendors before selecting Nolij technology to integrate with their existing SIS environment. The Office of Financial Aid will initially utilize Nolij Web to facilitate inter-office communication, reduce overall document processing time, minimize student record errors and provide a means of securely retaining documents. There will be more benefits as the system expands to other departments on campus from improving local file and information handling, to facilitating sharing of files and data between departments, refining inter-departmental business processes and increasing the efficiency and security of the handling of all data, sensitive or otherwise.
About Snow College
Snow College was founded in 1888 as the Sanpete Stake Academy by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1900 it was renamed Snow Academy in honor of Lorenzo Snow, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his cousin Erastus, who was instrumental in settling the Sanpete Valley. The institution went through three more name changes in a seven-year period. In 1917, the academy era ended and the school became Snow Normal College. In 1922, officials renamed the school Snow Junior College only to change it one year later to Snow College. In 1931, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints divested itself of Snow College and it became a state supported institution.
Over the years, Snow College had been the educational, artistic, musical and sports center of Central Utah. Encouraged by Snow's high academic standards and dedication to the pursuit of knowledge, thousands of graduates have gone on to earn higher degrees at colleges and universities throughout the country.
