Teachers College, Columbia University
Selects Nolij Web Document Imaging and Workflow Technology
Following a Thorough
Evaluation of Vendors, Teachers College Selects Nolij Web
Enterprise Document Imaging and Workflow Solution
Beverly, Massachusetts (02 Aug 2006) –
Nolij Corporation, a leading provider of higher education
focused software solutions, announced today that Teachers
College, Columbia University (Teachers College) has selected
Nolij Web as its enterprise document imaging and workflow
solution. Nolij Web was chosen by Teachers College in part
because of its ability to integrate tightly with the SunGard
Higher Education Banner database, and also Nolij's committment
and dedication to the higher education market.
Teachers College was looking for an enterprise content
management system with an integrated document imaging solution
to automate and manage the capture and retrieval of student
records and a variety of other documents (both paper and
electronic) utilized by the institution. The desire was
to find a system that was both modular and scalable in design
so as to support a phased implementation approach, and work
in conjunction with their existing student information system,
SunGard Higher Education Banner.
Teachers College expects to scan and archive both paper
and electronic documents in the offices of Admissions, Financial
Aid, and the Registrar immediately upon implementation.
Simultaneously, several offices plan to incorporate key
workflow functions into regular document processing, as
the cycle of annual activity allows. Teachers College is
looking to incorporate optical character recognition (OCR)
technology in support of its regular processing to extract
data from admission applications, scholarship applications
and other regularly used forms. In addition to document
capture, the information contained in the scanned forms
will be extracted and uploaded into the SunGard Higher Education
Banner student information system.
