Nolij Web Document Imaging for Higher Education: Content Management

Nolij defines Content Management as the capture, review, approval and storage of text contained within electronic documents for subsequent search and retrieval by keyword(s).  Content generally falls into two categories: structured and unstructured. Structured content exists in the form of data such as that which might be found in a relational database.  Unstructured content can be MS Word, Adobe PDF and similar electronic documents.  Nolij Web’s built-in content indexing component allows for full text extraction from electronic documents that can subsequently be searched by keyword, with the search results ranked relative to the original search criteria.  The purpose of adding the Nolij Web content management component to the baseline Nolij Web solution was to incorporate the ability to store, browse and search documents unrelated to records in your administrative system database.  Nolij Web’s content management component includes both searching and viewing capabilities; thus allowing an end user to search for documents using any keyword(s) contained within the title or body of the document and then display those documents with the keyword(s) highlighted.
